Hi and Welcome to Active-M8

Hi All,

Firstly thanks for checking out my page.  My name is John and I have many hobbies, most of them consisting in some sort of outdoor activity and combat sports.

After not finding enough review web sites for the best kit out there, I decided to set up a web site myself to give news, do reviews and test some stuff I can lay my hands on (see bottom of this page for the basis of my review, 1 to 10) .  Click on the tabs that interest you at the top of this page.

Also, if there is anything out there you like the look of but don't know how it will hold up in the real world, then drop me a line and I will try and get hold of the specific item through my contacts and friends and I'll give it a whirl for you.  (example: a rucksack on a shelf in a shop, you like it, you try it for size, it feels good, you buy it.  You get home load it with your gear and all of a sudden it aint as comfy as it was empty.)

I review everything on a scale of 1 to 10.  1 being ridiculously bad and 10 being a must have.  To give an idea; if I review anything beween 1 and 4, I personally would not go anywhere near.  5 to 7, I would possibly buy depending on how cheap/expensive the item is compared to the rrp.  8 to 10, I would definatley go out and buy, and pay the rrp for.
